The Man Who Awoke
An Essay by Christopher Bek

Summary—This essay follows the Canadian Laurence Manning’s 1933 book, The Man Who Awoke, by recognizing the arguments and life of myself, King Christ Lloyd Bek, the first man to awaken in the Third Millennium. I seek to awaken everyone.

Quotation—You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up. And you are here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life. That there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth. Like everyone you are a slave. You were born into bondage; born into a prison you cannot smell or taste or touch—a prison for your mind. —Morpheus to Neo in the 1999 movie Matrix

I awoke early on 22 December 2023 for my court appearance regarding mybank heist of 4 January 2023. After the judge acknowledged me in court, I pulled out a copy of the 1982 Canadian Constitution Act and read thetransformative words: “Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law.”Then I made the argument to the judge that God trumps judges; meaning that Christ trumps judges; meaning I trump you. Then I asked him if he knew what a totalitarian democracy is? His eyes glazed over and he fled the scene like the coward that he is. I refused to leave so the sheriffs dragged me out of the courthouse. It was glorious.

Behaviourism is a movement in psychology, psychiatry, and philosophy that emphasizes the outward, objective, behavioral aspects of human existence. It disregards inward experiential features and sometimesinner procedural aspects as well. Behaviorism supports determinism, and both believethat the environment is the only determinant of behavior—and that man has no freewill and no internal roots of behavior. Determinism asserts that all events, including human action, are ultimately determined by causes external to the will. Behaviourism forces man to sell his soul for the betterment of the state—condemning him to a meaningless, servile existence. The behavioural matrix omnipresent in Canada is a prison for our minds.

Existentialism is a movement in psychology, psychiatry, and philosophy that emphasizes the inner, subjective self of the acting, feeling, thinking, living human being. Webster’s Dictionary defines “Existentialism as a 19th and 20th centuries philosophy that is centered on the analysis of existence as not exhaustively describable or understandable in scientific terms. It stresses the freedom and responsibility of the individual, the irreducible uniqueness of an ethical or religious situation.” Jean-Paul Sartre’s 1943 seminal existential work, Being and Nothingness, encourages individuals to take control of their own lives and make meaningful decisions using an internal focus, with minimal reliance on external forces.SørenKierkegaard tells the story of a man who wakes up one day only to find himself dead, never haven touched the roots of his existence. According to Sigmund Freud, the ego is the decision-maker who chooses between the id and the superego. The id is a subject of power, while the superego is an object of power. Existentialism chooses the id, while behaviourism chooses the superego.

Totalitarian Democracy. According to Wikipedia: “Totalitarian democracy is a term popularized by Israeli historian Jacob Leib Talmon (1916-1980) and refers to a system of government in which lawfully elected representatives maintain a nation state whose citizens, while being granted the right to vote, have little or no participation in the decision-making process of the government.” While the government cares deeply about whether the Everyman wants smoothy or crunchy, discussion regarding the choice of psychological model is strictly taboo.

Government Treason. The sovereignty of modern democracies lies with the people, and the people may elect, correct, and, if necessary, depose of political leaders. While speaking witha psychiatrist, Dr Ullyatt, she told me that she is into the here and now (as are all behaviourists).Another time, I made the argument that we are heading for an extinction event. She said we probably will go extinct; and that mankind should go extinct. I told her that I am doing everything possible to prevent an extinction event. She replied: Good for you. I quoted Elon Musk to another doctor, Dr Fitzgerald, “There is a one-in-billions chance reality is not a simulation.” And she said: But there is still a chance, right? Another time I arranged for an hour-long peer meeting with an agent of the Canadian Mental Heath Association. Fifteen minutes into the meeting he got up and walked away saying that CMHA does not discuss philosophy. I called a senior manager at CMHA who confirmed they are against philosophy. CMHA ought to evolve a reasonable and faithful being with philosophy.

Past, Present and Future. Remember that Hegel tells us history teaches us we have never learned anything from history. Moving from behaviourism to existentialism involves shifting—from normal science and the normal distribution—to history, metaphysics, actuarial science, and the Cauchy distribution. Then we could remember the past, enabling us to forecast and embrace the future. Behaviourism is all about being in the present, while existentialism focuses on the past, present and future, and turns the weak-minded Everyman into the superior decision-making Superman.

The Outsider. From the back cover of the book entitled: The Divided Self (1960) by the Scottish psychiatrist RD Laing: “The outsider, estranged from himself and society, cannot experience himself or others as ‘real’. He invents a false self and with it confronts both the outside world and his own despair. The disintegration of his real self keeps pace with the growing unreality of his false self until, in the extremes of schizophrenic breakdown, the whole personality disintegrates.” I am an outsider and a hundred sigma event compared to the average. Social scientists apply the normal distribution, which does not permit individuals to exist beyond three standard deviations from the mean.

TheParent-Child Model. According to the existential philosopher Franz Kafka (1883-1924), “The people were given the choice between becoming kings or the couriers of kings. In the manner of children, they all wanted to be couriers. As a result, there are only couriers. They gallop through the world shouting to each other messages that, since there are no kings, have become meaningless.” Canadian psychiatrists have chosen the behavioural psychological model and, as such, the government represents the parent, and the people are children—who have traded their freedom for bread and are without responsibility. The people and the government have made an unholy alliance by making the government, parents or Skinner, and by making the people, children or rats. Furthermore, the Everyman knows well that with freedom comes responsibility, and so he flees them both in bad faith. The government wants him to play a role and behave according to the normal curve. The honourables and doctors treat the Everyman as children thathave machine-like determinism. The Everyman, in turn, instinctively implies determinism on others. The honourables and doctors employ behaviourism, determinism, and normal science to modify behavior for the purpose of building a happier and better-organized society. Existentialism is subjective, meaning that sovereignty resides with the people instead of the government.

Self-Day. Carl Jung wholeheartedly embraced self-awareness,in contrast to Freud who vigorously opposed it. Jung argued that personal growth is about awakening to self-knowledge and self-reflection. He believed in freewill and viewed determinism as merely a mode of thought. Jung called his life’s work the realization of the self.I am bringing down the government, in effect, by commanding the honourables and doctors to exercise their freewill and make the fifteen percent commitment to God the Mathematician and Metaphysician. Or, better yet, Canadians could move to a four-day work week with the fifth day being self-day where one studies actuarial science in the morning and existential philosophy in the afternoon in order to become whole. I wrote an essay ten years agoentitled: Curing Schizophrenia, where I argue for the exercising of actuarial science and existential philosophy as a means of curing schizophrenia. My argument is that one cannot fake actuarial science and existentialism as they are primordial to truth.

Imminent Extinction. My father was born in 1936 and started working for Imperial Oil at age 18 in 1954. He worked there for 37 years before retiring at age 55 with a good pension.Frank Fenner (1914-2010) was an Australian researcher who cured small pox; for which The World Health Organization declared his accomplishment the greatest humanitarian achievement of all time. In 2010 Fenner prophesied that mankind would go extinct within a hundred years because of overpopulation, deforestation, and climate change. Imagine how the world would have turned out differently if oil companies would have implemented self-day starting in 1954, wherepeople would study actuarial science in the morning and existential philosophy in the afternoon. We are headed for an extinction event because of having historically denied the self.

Closing Arguments. I have the great honour of being friends with the Honourable Kent Hehr (quadriplegic, lawyer, MLA, MP, and cabinet minister). I was having coffee with Kent and told him about the native people wholived on the land before us. I said they used to believe that they did not inherit the Earth from their parents, but that they borrow it from their children. Kent said: We fuck our children. My consulting advice for the governmentis to stopbuggering the kids, take responsibility, and implement self-day. We are challenged to awaken the Everyman in becoming the Superman—and then we may all work at delivering the planet.
